Edge protection - handpan drum protective edge

The outer edge of the handpan can be fitted with an edge protector to protect it from impacts. Our handpan protective edge in gold and silver gives your handpan an attractive and elegant look. The edge protector is made of plastic and is covered with a shiny film. Alternatively, we also offer the handpan edge protector in a simple black design.

It is easy to install and does not require any special tools. You can easily install it by hand and fix it with superglue or similar adhesive.

A clipper is included for attaching the protective edge to the handpan drum instrument .

The clipper can be attached to the open end of the protective edge with pliers to refine the look. The clipper comes with the Handpan World inscription and fixes the band firmly to the handpan.

Quick guide to replacing the Handpan protective edge:

Is your edge protection broken and needs to be replaced? Here we explain step by step how to change your protective edge:
1. If the handpan protective edge is attached with a clip: Carefully remove the clip that holds the protective edge. Use a thin screwdriver or other suitable tool to loosen the clip. Make sure that the handpan is not scratched by protecting the handpan shell with a cloth, for example.
2. Remove any remaining adhesive residue from the handpan edge: It is best to use a high-percentage cleaning alcohol - e.g. our 99.9% isopropanol for the care of handpans .
3. Now attach the new protective edge to the handpan: Make sure that the tension is even so that the edge lies smoothly around the handpan drum instrument. Depending on the diameter of the handpan, a piece of the protective edge may remain. Trim off the excess length you don't need with a side cutter, a cutter or a strong pair of scissors.
4. Edge protection on the Fixing the handpan drum: To fix the two ends of the protective edge and cover the unsightly cuts, attach the clipper provided with a wide pair of flat-nose pliers. To avoid scratches and dents, place a piece of fabric between the pliers and the clipper. Also protect the handpan shell with a cloth.
5. Great, the handpan now has a new border! Enjoy the beautiful look and playing the handpan.
