During the manufacturing process, the tone fields are laboriously incorporated by hand onto the curved surface and then precisely tuned. Since the process is handcrafted, dents and unevenness will occur in the tone field - this is completely normal and is part of the visual character of a good handpan.

Major is the English name for major. In the system of church scales this is also referred to as Ionian. This full Ionic mode gives you a lot of options. For example, you can play different triads and other chords. This mood is also very suitable for playing melodically. The major scale is one of the most important pillars of Western music.

You can also temporarily place the tonal center on the first note by clearly accompanying your phrases with the first note. It makes sense to leave the THING out for a while. This will cause the sound impression to move away from the Ionian mode towards the Myxolydian mode. You can do the same with the second tone, this will switch you to the Aeolian mode.

Some manufacturers offer this tuning without the fourth note of the scale (example C Major - without F). This makes the sound a little more open and with a different handpan that has the note F# (not F), for example, you can switch to Lydian mode , such as Sabye.
