This care set contains everything you need to regularly oil your stainless steel Handpan. Packed in a handmade wooden box, it contains a Handpan.World microfiber cloth and a bottle of stainless steel Handpan care oil.

This is perfect for cleaning and caring for stainless steel handpans Water streaks or stains, tarnish and fingerprints are easily and quickly removed.
The oil forms a protective film on the surface, which prevents moisture and salts such as sweat from penetrating. The handpan care oil also ensures a lasting shine. With regular care, you can let your instrument shine in all its beauty.

Our special Handpan.World care oil for stainless steel handpans consists of highly refined hydrocarbons and white oils and is therefore free from acids, which can lead to discoloration on stainless steel surfaces.

Vegetable oils are acidic and therefore unsuitable for the care of stainless steel! We do not recommend experimenting with coconut, olive or other vegetable oils. Other special handpan oils are also often plant-based - these oils are only suitable for nitrided steel.

Background information on handpan oil for stainless steel

Maintenance oil is an essential accessory for regular handpan maintenance. Although stainless steel is resistant to rusting due to its chemical composition, the surface can tarnish and discolor due to prolonged exposure to moisture or salts such as our natural sweat or contact with acids.

This can result in undesirable stains. These only have an optical effect and have no effect on the sound. If you want to keep your handpan in its original condition, we recommend that you clean your instrument regularly with rubbing alcohol and maintain it with this stainless steel handpan oil.

Of course, appearance is also a matter of taste - if stains or discoloration appeal to you, you can experiment with less care. However, the process is more random and cannot be controlled. Above all, however, a changed surface cannot be reversed. It is best to make a conscious decision right at the beginning of your Handpan journey, then the routine of Handpan care will be very easy for you. The white oils contained are harmless to health. Only suitable for external use and for the stated purpose. Please do not consume and keep out of the reach of children.

Instructions for Handpan cleaning & care with Handpan oil in seven steps:

1. Wash your hands before every game. This will reduce the amount of harmful substances such as salts and acids that are accidentally applied to your Handpan.
2. Remove dirt, grease, salts and acids from your handpan every 1-2 weeks with a high-proof rubbing alcohol.
3. After cleaning, apply sufficient care oil to the clean and dry surface of your Handpan and spread it evenly with a microfiber cloth so that the entire Handpan is covered with a shiny layer of oil.
4. To remove stains, tarnish and fingerprints, you can polish with a microfiber cloth.
5. Leave your Handpan to rest for approx. 12 hours after oiling to allow the oil to adhere and create a protective patina.
6. If the handpan is still greasy after the oil has been applied, simply remove the residue with a microfiber cloth.
7. Wipe with the still oily microfiber cloth after each game to lightly re-oil the surface and remove salts and acids from your skin.
