Con essa è possibile suonare in modo versatile, passando da atmosfere calme e meditative a toni malinconici, fino a sonorità energiche e allegre.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAnche se questa accordatura può suonare molto sentimentale, è certamente possibile creare scenari sonori gioiosi. Ad esempio, sulla seconda e terza nota si ottiene rispettivamente una triade maggiore. Partendo da questo quinto grado, considerando il DING come centro tonale, si dispongono tutti gli intervalli di una scala minore naturale (eolia). Una particolarità di Kurd è il semitono tra la prima e la seconda nota. Questo intervallo è presente anche nell'omonimo Maqam Kurd (sistema di scale arabo o turco, cfr. Semai Kurd), ma anche nel modo frigio. Il modo frigio viene utilizzato nel jazz, nel rock psichedelico, nel flamenco e nel fado, ma anche nella musica classica.\u003cspan
